Churches Together in Eastleigh & Bishopstoke |
Run by SCRATCH, the Southampton based group that distributes furniture and clothing to people in need,
Basics Bank operates a free distribution of emergency essential food supplies to those who suddenly have none.
Basics Bank has centres in Eastleigh and Southampton, ready to help anybody in the region.
Fire! Flood! Plague! Pestilence! . . . An exaggeration?
Well, yes - unless you suddenly get burnt out of your own home, or some other disaster strikes.
Then Basics Bank can give you some help.
All we ask is that you get a referral from an organised group, such as Social Services, company Welfare department, or a local church perhaps.
We’ll give you an initial supply of basic food to get you started again. We might even be able to help a second time in very bad circumstances.
Do you know somebody who needs our help?
There is no charge for this service. You don’t have to pay us back later. It really is free.
It’s a bit like an insurance policy, but where somebody else makes the payments for you. We already receive gifts of food from many of the churches in Eastleigh, Bishopstoke and Fair Oak. People buy an extra tin of this or a packet of that when they do their regular shopping - anything that has a long shelf-life. We keep it until you need it.
